Urban mobility is one of the main challenges facing contemporary metropolitan regions. In this context, artificial intelligence enhances the capacity to monitor, analyze, and manage mobility by incorporating predictive, adaptive, and autonomous capabilities into urban planning processes. This article aims to analyze the contributions of artificial intelligence to metropolitan mobility, discussing how intelligent systems are transforming urban planning and management. As a theoretical contribution, the study proposes the concept of Predictive Urban Governance, understood as an institutional arrangement based on the use of real-time data, computational modeling, scenario simulation, and algorithmic systems designed to anticipate trends and support the continuous adaptation of urban policies. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative, exploratory, and theoretical-conceptual approach, developed through a narrative and analytical review of the literature on urban mobility, smart cities, digital governance, artificial intelligence, and transportation planning. The findings indicate that predictive, adaptive, and autonomous systems enhance the capacity to understand complex urban dynamics, optimize transportation networks, and support more responsive decision-making processes. The study concludes that artificial intelligence can contribute to the development of more accessible, efficient, and inclusive mobility systems, provided that it is aligned with principles of transparency, territorial equity, and urban justice.
