A CRIAÇÃO FOLCLÓRICA DO SABÁ: A MULHER COMO AGENTE DO DIABO NA EUROPA CRISTÃ / THE FOLKLORIC CREATION OF THE SABBATH: THE WOMAN AS THE DEVIL’S AGENT IN CHRISTIAN EUROPE

Resumo

Resumo: O presente artigo tem por finalidade traçar laços temporais entre as diversas crenças e expressões culturais que contribuíram para a criação da imagem da bruxa moderna e estereótipo do ritual sabático. Algumas das questões abordadas serão: a demonização das mulheres e de antigas práticas pagãs, os códigos jurídicos que tornaram legítimos os métodos de execução e a presença constante do medo que afetou diretamente esse período da história.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to draw temporal bonds between several beliefs and cultural expressions that contributed to the creation of the image of the witch and the stereotype of the Sabbatical ritual. Some of the approached questions will be the demonization of the women and of the old pagan practices; the legal codes that legitimized the methods of execution and how the constant fear of the unknown affected directly this age of history.
