CFD SIMULATION AND PASSIVE OPTIMIZATION OF THERMAL COMFORTIN SOCIAL HOUSING IN ANDEAN CONTEXTS

Resumo

O presente estudo avalia as condições de conforto térmico em uma habitação de interesse social localizada na cidade de Quito, Equador, por meio do uso de simulações de Dinâmica dos Fluidos Computacional (CFD) e da aplicação de estratégias de projeto passivo. A pesquisa baseia-se em um modelo representativo construído com sistemas convencionais de concreto e alvenaria, caracterizados por um desempenho ambiental limitado. A metodologia emprega o software STAR-CCM+ para analisar a distribuição de temperatura, o comportamento do fluxo de ar e os indicadores de qualidade ambiental interna, especificamente o Voto Médio Estimado (PMV) e a Percentagem de Pessoas Insatisfeitas (PPD), conforme a norma ISO 7730. Foram avaliados quatro cenários: modelo base, melhoria da envolvente, incorporação de sistemas de captação de vento e otimização da orientação e das aberturas. Os resultados evidenciam que intervenções centradas exclusivamente na envolvente geram melhorias limitadas, enquanto estratégias integradas que combinam ventilação natural e projeto arquitetônico permitem reduzir a temperatura interna em até 2 °C e aumentar significativamente a área de conforto. O estudo demonstra que o conforto térmico em habitações sociais depende da interação entre materiais, ventilação e configuração espacial, oferecendo uma abordagem replicável para contextos andinos.
