US military keynesianism between Welfare State and neoliberalism: a critical contribution from the economic function of militarism

Transcending the level of intellection that captures only what is circumscribed to the most superficial plane of appearances and delving into the deepest layers of the determinations of reality is not a task that is presented as a mere option, being, otherwise, a duty that science owes pursue with all its might. The increase in military spending and its decisive participation in the US economy is a phenomenon that has escaped many authors and many politician analyzes that have not been able to capture the dynamics of military spending and its behavior in the face of the welfare state or neoliberalism. The insufficiency of analyzes that reduce the explanations for the increase in military spending to a mere dispute for imperialist hegemony, lead to errors and inaccuracies, which attack the wrong target of the issue. The task set in this text is to present a critical contribution to what was the welfare state and neoliberalism based on the role played by militarism in its economic function. When facing the research object, we chose to review the literature using official data.
