FLE TEACHER TRAINING
FROM PRACTICE TO REFLECTION IN THE CONTEXT OF PIBID – LETRAS-FRANCÊS AT COLÉGIO DE APLICAÇÃO/UFSC

The Colégio de Aplicação (CA) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina welcomed, in 2023, sixteen scholarship holders ID (Iniciação à Docência), in english Teaching Initiation, from the PIBID (Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência), in english Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program, included in the Multidisciplinary Additional Languages Project. The interns participated in French classes in both Middle School and High School, under the supervision of two permanent teachers, allowing each to oversee eight IDs. The interns are responsible for observing and reporting their impressions of teaching practices, while the teachers supervise and propose activities and reflections on teaching. Each group developed its own working dynamic, as we welcomed the first IDs in 2022, followed by eight new ones in 2023 through a new call for applications. Pedagogical meetings between the interns and teachers took place both online and in person, allowing for exchanges about their experiences. The IDs played an active role in French classes, as, in addition to assisting students, they designed activities for the class, such as online and printed educational games, based on themes defined in each context. The IDs themselves were responsible for putting into practice the activities they had created. This initiative of integrating the school environment with the training of future teachers fosters a reflective and high-quality teaching practice while contributing to the continuous professional development of permanent teachers.
