Abstract

In this article we present some analyzes related to the impacts of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) on one of the main public policies carried out by the Brazilian State, as well as on one of the main references both in the curricular organization of teaching work, and for consultation and study by students: books Programa Nacional do Livro e do Material Didático (PNLD) textbooks. In this sense, we analyzed some textbooks aimed at teaching Science using two analysis items: a) eliminatory criteria used in the evaluation of books and general organization of the collections and b) proposed teaching contents. Our results point to an increase in the amount of teaching content in the areas of Physics, Chemistry and Geosciences, which will now share more space with knowledge in the area of Biological Sciences, which will have a great impact on teacher training. Finally, we conclude that the textbook, despite being an important resource for teaching work, reflects the troubled historical moment we are experiencing, so that its use needs to occur in a critical way.
