Abstract

ABSTRACT:This article aims to analyze the contributions of photographs to address the concept of place in Geography classes in the early years of Basic Education. search, also, reflect so much on the potential of the photographs available in textbooks to promote the process of pedagogical mediation as well as those originated through smartphones, in relation to the daily life of students. The objectives of this study are summarized in seeking alternatives that expand pedagogical mediations in the teaching of Geography, as well as how to promote actions that strengthen the use of photographic images as a tool classroom teaching, contributing to the understanding of geographic concepts. However, the objective of this study is to expand the possibilities of children in relation to the processes of teaching and learning, as well as introducing technologies in Geography classes. For such, in this eminently qualitative investigation, a review was carried out with the specific literature that deals with the listed theme, that is, teaching Geography to children, the concept of place, the textbook and pedagogical use/mediation through fontographys.
