This paper aims to analyze the legal area on Land Policy in the state of Santa Catarina with respect to the possession, to the property and to legitimization in the Planalto Serrano during the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. It will attempt to investigate how this present Santa Catarina highlands converged to land concentration and to little leaseholders and workers territorial marginalization, considering the social consequences of the land’s legal area from 1850’s legislation. The excessive ambiguous and sometimes contradictory legislation allowed that proprietors advanced through public lands and through lands from little leaseholders, which compulsorily turned the latter into aggregates.Downloads
