Building a university model for Santa Catarina: political disputes in the implementation of engineering courses at UFSC

Abstract

This paper brings a contribution to the history of the creation of UFSC, scoring some conflicts for implementation of this project in the 1960s and its construction process in the period between the military regime and political openness. This is the genesis of studies in the field of Engineering, which occurred in Santa Catarina in the newly created USC, with emphasis on its implementation process and subsequent consolidation from clashes of power struggles.
