Public healthcare at Florianopolis in the 20's

Abstract

This Article intends to draw a picture of Public Health in Florianopolis in the decade of 20 th century XX. To reach this is done an analysis of the sanitary conditions of the city and the major diseases and epidemics that occurred at the time. This Article also provides a brief history of Public Health in Brazil in order to insert the measures taken by the Government of Santa Catarina in a larger context of national sanitation and hygiene that aways aimed to keep the conditions necessary to the insertion in global capitalism.
