Abstract

This article describes the application of a new tool that uses the extension of Failure Mode and Analysis of Effects (FMEA) for project risk analysis and which is being labeled as FMEA Reverse (RFMEA). The purpose of this file is to describe the application and monitor the use of this tool, which is a modification of the already consolidated process, product and service FMEA technique. With the purpose of knowing what already exists in the literature on the subject here approached, an exploratory bibliographical research was carried out, in order to identify tools and methods used. To illustrate the study was followed by its application in an auto parts industry in its manufacturing process, seeking to prevent and reduce the risks of failures, improving processes and devices, and in the end, compare the current situation with future results. The results obtained were the improvement in the process, reduction of risks and direct and indirect costs of approximately 70%. The benefits of RFMEA include a greater focus on risk prevention and contingency, improving integration and participation of the project team, enabling better risk management and the development of process improvement actions and mitigation of risks.
