UNIDADES DE CONSERVAÇÃO: Aspectos históricos e sua evolução

Resumo

The first federal protected area of Brazil was established in 1937, in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, an impressive system of federal protected areas has been created. The present text intends to make a short analysis about the different types of protected areas, as it still intends to make comparisons between previous juridical regime, and the National System of Protected Areas, that was established in July 18TH, 2000 through the Law 9.985. The National System of Protected Areas has been an important instrument to formality different kinds of protected areas. Through it, society can know the fundaments of each protected area and understand how these are necessary to protect the biodiversity.
