Abstract

This article aims to elucidate the character of the Nationalist Commands, led by Leonel Brizola and understand how laborism was imputed as a subversive activity on the eve and during the period known as the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985). Focusing on the activities of these groups in Santa Catarina and the persecution suffered by the groups after the 1964 coup, we intend to analyze, through documents mentioned in the Paulo Stuart Wright State Truth Commission, the nature of the accusations and the way in which they were accused of subversive activity, better understanding the scenario in which the state of Santa Catarina was taken over by the military regime.
