O Universo alimentar do açoriano-catarinense na obra "O Fantástico da Ilha de Santa Catarina"

Abstract

This article aims to know the food universe of the açoriano-catarinense represented by Cascaes in O Fantástico na Ilha de Santa Catarina. In the midst of a witchcraft imaginary, the work presents reports of the life habits and cultural manifestations of that people at that time. Both literature and food processes can act as instruments of recognition and reinforcement of identities and construction of cultural heritage. Thus, the importance and richness of the literature of Cascaes was identified in the study of food practices and identities, building the individual and collective affective memory that consolidates the culinary traditions of the açoriano-catarinense’s.
