The importance of bobbin lace in the household economy in Florianopolis from 1900 and its continuity in the present tense

Abstract

This paper seeks to relate the economy of Florianópolis with the production of bobbin lace, emphasizing the period from the late nineteenth to the twentieth century. We seek to understand the importance of the production and marketing of articles on rent-to-bobbin in the capital region. It starts with an understanding of general economic characteristics of the city to realize where it belongs trade income, through the stages of the lace-to-bobbin and the models produced in the region. If the act of "make income" was characterized as an activity exclusive to women, that this important economic activity gains from the turn of the nineteenth to the twentieth? What factors will influence the economic decline of the importance given to the product?
