The coup d'état to election of Castelo Branco: the first days of military rule through the news in O Estado

Abstract

This article is a brief reproduction of the first days of military rule in Brazil through the news published in the Santa Catarina's newspaper "O Estado". As well as historical reporting, the purpose is to do a review of these reports, and through them understand how the population of a state outside the national political center realized the facts that happened in that period of history of Brazil.
