Androgyny: the women's clothing represented in the Newspaper O Estado in the fashion column of Iara Pedrosa

Abstract

This article describes how in the framework of fashion women’s clothes stepped in to help a woman in competition with the man for better job positions and gain respectability in society. For this, the body of the article relates the androgyny with women's clothing and their use for this competition. The feminist activity in this context reflects the need of women to be respected. Using as a source, the column of Iara Pedrosa, a fashion columnist for the newspaper O Estado from 1970, it is notice this discussion in the State of Santa Catarina.
