The Contestado war seen for the florianopolis papers

Abstract

The objective of this article is analyze the Florianopolis newspapers between Setember and November of 1912, and trying to understand what was the ideas that this papers had about the topics approached about Contestado’s war: : the supposed Fanaticism of the sertanejos that fight in the war; the lands that was pretendend for Santa Catarina and Paraná; the war itself involving the sertanejos, the polices of Santa Catarina and Paraná and troops of Brazil’s government. Throughthe newspapers O Clarão and Folha do Commercio this terms will be put on discussion, in order to understand how that papers in that specific age aboard these terms in Florianópolis.
