“By the way, is this Blumenau?”: Considerations about the image formation of colonies of Vale do Itajaí in the immigrant imaginary

Abstract

This article reflects about the german immigrant imaginary referring to colonies of Vale do Itajaí. For this, it’s analyzed the immigrants memories that came in this local, in 1850s and that are in the periodic Blumenau em cadernos, from the Cultural Foundation of Blumenau and also in the academic researches already performed.
