Abstract

This article reflect about the german nationality perceived in the brazilian’s ground. The strong German nationalism was for a long time the reason of concern among Brazilians politicians and intellectuals, which saw in the German people a risk to their own national integrity, the so called “German danger”. The Germany immigration, once incentivated, started to be considered a mistake, because the ethnic enclave that it was generating. There was, including the idea that the southern Brazil could be, in some moment, lost to the German group, intent to implant the colonial regime. The concerns were made from the concepts of the German nationalism, and make difficult the way of Brazilians governants to form a national identity.
