Signs of decadence: the defeat of the military regime in Novembrada.

Abstract

This article is about the episode occurred in the capital of Santa Catarina known as "Novembrada." In times of political repression, which peaked marked from 1968 to mid-1970, the military regime dictates of the visit of then President General Figueiredo, broke a manifestation of popular slant that took to the streets of the center of Florianópolis, pointing signs weakening dictatorial government ahead of civil society in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Through testimonials from people who have experienced this episode, a movie and a documentary about the same, this article seeks to bring some considerations about this historical fact.
