Résumé

O presente artigo tem por objetivo discorrer sobre como a concepção sobre o que é a medição e sobre os processos de mensuração foram pensados no decorrer da história da filosofia. O propósito é salientar que, embora fosse relegada aos processos de mensuração em ciência um tratamento mais metodológico do que científico e filosófico, encontramos na história do pensamento ocidental breves teorizações sobre o assunto, os quais revelam concepções sobre o que é “medição” e o que a fundamenta – um critério que assegure o conhecimento oriundo dos seus processos.
