L’aporie du récit

Abstract

The task of this study is to test within a limited survey the ability of the poetics of narrative to solve what Ricoeur characterizes as the first aporia of temporality, namely the aporia of the double perspective, phenomenological and cosmological, on time. In order to do it, firstly, we will expose the first aporia in his great lines. Secondly, we will try to explain the essential features of the response of the poetics of narrative in the first aporia of temporality, by referring to Ricœur theory of triple mimesis and poetic notions cross reference, third-time and especially that of narrative identity. Finally, we will strive to clarify and discuss the limits of response which gives the poetics of narrative in  the first aporia and afterwards we will try to answer the question whether the poetics of narrative consequence, certainly in a paradoxical way, to deepen the aporias of time and multiply the number by adding new to old aporias.
