Conservadorismo na cultura política de Santa Catarina:
reverberações da Era Vargas no tempo presente
Abstract
Conservatism has been a characteristic of the political culture of Santa Catarina since the Vargas Era. This paper aims to analyze the complexity of political disputes in the state during the thirties, recognizing social, political and economic factors that contributed to the consolidation of conservatism as an integral part of the "barriga-verde" political culture. Drawing on the studies of historian João Henrique Zanelatto, the research seeks to overcome the traditional ethnic issue to explain the social and political factors that still integrate the state scenario, problematizing other issues that have fostered and still foster conservative positions in Santa Catarina's politics.
