Labor and comercial prosperity among Syrian and Lebanese immigrant and decendants in the Twentieth century Florianopolis

Abstract

At the beginning of the twentieth century, many immigrants from Syrian and Lebanese origin arrived at regions of Florianopolis and settled down commercially, achieving great prosperity in their businesses. This article aims to examine the arrival of these immigrants and the process that took place since the opening of the first establishments to the commercial development brought on by their descendants until this day.
