Ed Sheeran set to add a football pitch and private BEACH to his garden

Ed Sheeran has reportedly had planning approved to add a football pitch and a private beach to his already extensive garden by his local council.

His neighbours thankfully didn't reject the plans however they did request that any lights illuminating his garden are switched off by midnight.

An insider told the Sun: ‘Ed might be a global superstar but he's a simple lad who loves his football.'

The Mirror also reported on Thursday some of the details around Ed's secret wedding to Cherry, which allegedly came after he scheduled in a break from his world tour.

A source told the publication: 'Ed had managed to schedule a break in his world tour for December so that's when they tied the knot.

'It was held at the church in Wingfield and the reception was at the local pub.

Plans revealed he wants to add a walled kitchen garden with seating area, nine oak sleeper raised beds, woven willow fencing and room for fruit trees.

His garden designer also wants to put in a £21,450 National Trust Collection greenhouse and sandstone stepping stones to link a tree house and his orangerie terrace.

The hitmaker's 57,600sqm outdoor area will also feature an entertaining area with pool terrace and a new base for this hot tub, illuminated by 'subtle garden lighting'.

His stunning estate will also get a 380sqm wild flower meadow in plans recently approved by Suffolk Coastal District Council.

Detailed plans state: 'The works involve laying new paving and composite decking around three properties, creating a kitchen garden with raised oak beds, brick paver and gravel paths, building the brick plinth base for a greenhouse.' 

Ed Sheeran bought his main house for £895,000 in June 2012, and has since bought up three neighbouring properties, and the estate has been dubbed 'Sheeran-ville'.

The singer's planning consultants submitted an application to the local council for the works to the garden in November last year.

The plans have been put together by Sue Townsend, a Suffolk garden designer who has won three awards from the Society of Garden Designers.
